Steaming hay eliminates mold, fungal spores, and dust that cause respiratory problems in horses. Steaming is easier than soaking, and preserves hay's nutritional value.
The HayGain HG-600 steams a half-bale, or the equivalent in hay nets or wedges. The automatic timer makes the process particularly easy... simply place hay in chest, fill steamer with water, and hay is ready when you want it.
This unit is in excellent condition. I used it sucessfully for my horse, but he is now old with bad teeth and can no longer chew hay.
